After several weeks during which churches in Australia were closed, some churches, sacraments and public worship started to return from early May. In those cases, the number who can attend Mass is very limited, so the Bishops Conference, dioceses, eparchies, ordinariates, parishes and other Catholic groups are continuing to support the prayer life of Catholics who are unable to attend Mass.
Catholics are encouraged to utilise the resources below to support your prayer life and especially to allow you to continue to keep Sunday as a day when prayer is prominent. Many Catholic organisations have been supportive in their provision of access to material that is sometimes only available via subscription. The Conference thanks St Pauls Publications in particular for allowing the reproduction of its Scripture reflections
On May 14, the Australian Catholic Bishops announced that they will entrust the nation to the protection of Mary Help of Christians on her feast day. You can find out more here. The Bishops also issued a Word of Encouragement to the Catholic people of Australia, which you can download here.
