Personal - Lay Leadership In St John Vianney Parish Morisset Nsw- Moderator Model Of ParishOur Parish faced the real challenge of having no Parish Priest at Easter 2012, when Fr Brennan retired as Parish Priest of both Toronto and Morisset due to ill health.

Fr Geoff Mulhearn was appointed as Priest Moderator of both Parishes and Sr Anne Moylan was then appointed as Pastoral Co-ordinator for both parishes.

Both Morisset and Toronto were charged by Bishop Bill with, studying and praying for a model of Parish Leadership which would suit their communities.

In late February 2017, the mortal remains of Bishop Robert William Willson were returned to Hobart, 152 years after he had departed Tasmania for the last time.  They will be placed in the crypt of St Mary’s Cathedral on 12 May.  These events give cause to acknowledge the legacy of this pioneer leader of the Catholic Church in Australia.

A mentoring program for Australian Catholic womenA new national mentoring program to build the skills and capacity of Australian Catholic women will be launched Sydney in May.

The Australian Catholic Women’s Mentoring Program is the initiative of the Young Catholic Women’s Interfaith Fellowship for 2015/16. The graduates were asked to find a way to give back to Church and society. This is one of their projects for 2017.
