The good news is that Aoife McGrath, whom we commissioned to write the Lay Pastoral Ministry report, recently completed the document. Furthermore, our council met in February and reviewed Aoife’s full body of work. It is looking very good indeed.
The next part of the process is to tidy up this draft and create user friendly summaries and reflection questions for each chapter of the guidelines. These summaries and questions will be circulated to all dioceses and networks for their feedback with a midyear deadline for feedback. Critical to this stage will be these questions: How might you make use of these guidelines in your own setting? What is missing from the guidelines? What support materials can you offer for lay pastoral ministry relevant to the guidelines?
