Faithful Stewards of God’s Grace is an essential resource for all who are lay pastoral ministers in Australia, and those who work with them. The document:

• Celebrates the rich contribution of lay and religious in building up of the Church in Australia
• Offers solid theological and pastoral underpinning for lay pastoral ministry
• Offers a vision and pathway to co-responsibility and complementarity between the ordained and lay people
• Offers key recommendations to support lay pastoral ministry into the future.

The Resource is in its final phases, with a complete copy being viewed by the Australian Catholic Bishops at their next gathering in May for final sign off.

The Guidelines have taken a big leap forward. The title of the document is “Faithful Stewards of God’s Grace: Lay Pastoral Ministers in the Church in Australia”. The text has been forwarded to the Bishops Commission for Church Ministry for approval and we are hopeful that graphic design work and inclusions of sample templates and so forth will be completed in the early part of 2018. All going well, the guidelines will launched in conjunction with Proclaim 2018 in Brisbane.
