With the release of Faithful Stewards of God’s grace, the focus of the Council has now turned to ensuring the resource is brought to life in local settings. Dioceses such as Maitland-Newcastle and Parramatta have already begun breaking open the content of the guidelines, but the Council recognises that further publicity and strategies will be needed in the New Year.

Since the publication of Faithful Stewards of God’s Grace we have added to our webpage all the resources that were used in the Launch event in Brisbane. This includes the AV presentation that reviewed the history of lay pastoral ministry in Australia. Each separate section or chapter of the document can also be accessed.

News from the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is that the lay pastoral ministers are working their way through Faithful Stewards of God’s Grace in ‘book group style’ focusing on one chapter each month and discussing the key ideas.
