At a NAPPA (NSW Association of Pastors and Pastoral Associates) meeting in 2006, Sr. Anne Martin, returning from the National Conference of Lay Pastoral Ministers in Brisbane, informed us that it was now Sydney’s turn to host the triannual event. Anne was not confident that the Sydney Pastoral Associates had the necessary resources for the task so NAPPA decided to combine the efforts of five Diocese (Sydney, Parramatta, Broken Bay, Wollongong and Maitland-Newcastle) in organizing the 2009 event.

The priests and deacons working in the Archdiocese of Hobart gather on Tasmania’s East Coast every two years for a week’s ongoing formation and professional development. This focus looks back to the Second Vatican Council’s document on the ministry and life of priests. It also finds an echo in many parts of Pope Francis’ Evangelii Gaudium.
