Clifford the Big Red Dog (Ritter) has a very healthy appetite. He has a particular passion for Tummy Yummies. One day he overhears the tail end of a conversation about how much he eats, and how much it costs to feed him. He runs away from home to join a travelling carnival so that he can win a lifetime supply of Tummy Yummies.
This 73 minute film has the under fives firmly in its sights. It is an old-fashioned animation film in every regard. The story is basic, the characters are lovable, the colours are vivid and animation is simple. I wonder, however, in this day and age when even under fives are used to sophisticated children's television whether Clifford's Really Big Movie is a little too simple.
The morality of the film is good - never presume to know the whole story when you've only heard one line, and be assured of the love others have you in word and deed.
