In March 2010 Catholic Network Australia (CNA) announced the completion of its core telecommunications network initially linking 1,622 schools and education offices across the country. While Catholic schools will be the first to benefit the network, it is envisaged that all Australian Catholic agencies and parishes will be able to participate over time.
The project, in partnership with Telstra Corporation, will also dramatically increase high-speed broadband connectivity to schools in order to enhance virtual learning, collaboration and administration.
CNA also launched its initial Education services including an education portal, directory and access to The Learning Federation (TLF) Sharing Exchange and Scootle service which houses over 9,500 learning and teaching resources.
CNA is managed by Catholic Network Australia Ltd, a subsidiary company of Catholic Resources Ltd.
